AirTouch in Rishon LeZion
Soft lightening that looks as if the sun did it: no defined strands and no harsh line at the roots. For when you want to go lighter — gently, and for the long run.

AirTouch is a technique where I use a blow-dryer to blow the short, fine hairs out of each section and lighten only the longer, denser hair that’s left. That’s why the transition from roots to lengths is so smooth, with more light around the face and at the ends.
It’s gentler than all-over blonde: only some of the strands are lightened, not all of your hair. And it suits anyone who doesn’t want to color their roots every month: your own color grows out at the roots unnoticed.
Many people in Israel haven’t heard of this technique, and when I show them how soft it looks, they often choose it. The amount of light can be adjusted, from just a few touches of light to lots of blonde — and it doesn’t have to be all over the head.

AirTouch on long hair
Only the longer, denser hairs are lightened, so the transition is soft, as if the hair had been lightened by the sun.

How it works
Photos and a chat
Send a photo of your hair in daylight and a photo of a look you like. I’ll tell you what I see in it — sometimes we see different things — and whether AirTouch can give you that result on your hair.
Preparation
For AirTouch, your hair needs to be dry and blow-dried straight — that way the short hairs blow out evenly. If the ends can’t take any more lightening, I’ll suggest trimming them.
Blowing out and lightening
Section by section, I blow out the short hairs and apply lightener only to the longer, denser ones. I choose the formula for your hair. On challenging hair, I do a strand test first.
Treatment, toning, blow-dry
Then a restorative treatment and toning to the shade you want — cool, beige or warm. If you’re coming from all-over blonde or highlights, I color the hair in between to match your natural color. Finally, a blow-dry.
What affects the time and price
- Length and thickness: long, thick hair takes more time and more product.
- What’s on your hair now. Switching from highlights or all-over blonde is harder and costs more the first time: the strands have to be rebuilt into a different pattern without touching what’s already lightened, and the hair in between may need coloring. Touch-ups after that are simpler.
- How much blonde you want, and whether it’s all over.
- Complex coloring often takes 4–5 hours. The price includes the dye, in-salon care during coloring and a blow-dry.
Aftercare and touch-ups
AirTouch needs a touch-up about every 3–4 months; with a soft blend, many clients go even longer. If it has grown out a lot, at the touch-up I use less blonde or work on a different layer of hair, so I don’t go over what’s already lightened.
Between touch-ups you can simply refresh the toner — the shade washes out faster than the roots grow.
At home: a shampoo for color-treated hair, a mask once a week and heat protection. I’ll help you choose products for your hair.
Questions
How is AirTouch different from highlights?
With highlights, the strands are taken from the root and show more clearly. With AirTouch, the short hairs are blown out and only the long ones are lightened, so the pattern is softer and the roots grow out unnoticed. If your highlights look too stripy and you’d like a smoother result, AirTouch is usually what you’re after.
Can AirTouch be done on dark hair?
Yes, as long as your hair hasn’t been colored with permanent dark dye. On a natural dark base you get a soft transition with a warm or neutral tone. If your hair has been dyed black, a strand test comes first: sometimes the technique can lift it slightly without the multi-stage process of going lighter from black, and sometimes it can’t.
Can I have AirTouch on just part of my hair, or with only a little blonde?
Yes. We can lighten just the top section or the strands around your face, or keep the amount of blonde very small. In the chair I see how your hair blows out: sometimes layered hair won’t let me take a smaller share of each section, and then I’ll suggest another option.
Can I go from all-over blonde to AirTouch?
Yes, it’s a common request: staying light but no longer lightening your roots every month. I do AirTouch and color the hair in between to match your natural color. The first time takes longer and costs more, but after that you can grow out your own color with peace of mind.
How long does AirTouch last?
The roots grow out softly, so a touch-up is needed about every 3–4 months, and for many clients less often. We refresh the shade with toning.
